Founded in 1991, The Swim School started 25 years ago by ex-professional swimmer Dave Bond. Dave successfully ran the swim school for 15 years until he hung up his swimming shorts and passed the armbands to his daughter Sammy. Since then we feel the school has continued to grow from strength to strength with the following principles in place:
We keep class sizes as small as possible for a competitive price (approximately 6 children) as we feel this is important for children to learn, progress and build confidence. We think swimming is a life skill and good quality lessons should be available for all. Beginner classes are the same size but with additional water support allowing for great pupil - teacher ratios.
We hope our friendly and approachable staff make children and parents alike feel welcomed, allowing for a close working relationship and a sociable place for children to learn. The majority of our teachers are friends and family of the school, many of whom learned to swim with us themselves.
Using the ASA National Plan we've developed a scheme of work that really focuses on the swimming with a fun splash at the end of term for free development and practicing of skills.
We are confident and passionate in our approach to teaching and hope that when you meet us you feel the same. Swimming is such a valuable and potentially lifesaving skill, we love to share it with the children we teach.
